Flu Jab

I don't qualify for a jab but, with all the news items about the strain and the early onset this year, I thought it a good idea to get a vaccination (I will qualify NEXT year!). However no chemist with a 15-mile radius is offering any appointments so the 'system' doesn't work very well... :-(

I don’t think you can blame the ‘system’. It appears there has been a rush to get the jab now rather than earlier and the pharmacists are running short.

A case of supply and demand.

I don't blame the pharmacies, but every time I look at BBC website or local news, they are still pushing it. What's the point if there is a desperate shortage?

Aren’t they switching the emphasis to getting children done, they have a nasal spray rather than a jab,

One article I read suggests that pop up clinics will appear to try and get those children who didn’t get it via school.

Headline news in our local area too.
Our GP's surgery staff were willing to vaccinate my daughter, who lives here with me, as extra protection to help prevent me from suffering a flu infection.
This was done at the time of the annual flu vaccination clinic.

Some hospitals in the area are asking patients and staff to wear surgical masks again.

I just moved onto the computer so I could c & p and now I can't find it.

But the statistics for the take up of the vaccine amongest elegible groups was less than 50%.
