But I have also struck a dead end with the Smith in our family tree. My husband's mother's maiden name was Smith - Dorothy Mabel Smith, son of Harold Upton Smith and Ethel McConchie. Harold Upton Smith was born in 1892 in Thebarton, Adelaide, South Australia to James Garnet Smith (c1864) and Ada Upton who we believe was born in Australia. We think James Garnet Smith was born in England |
