I have just finished upgrading my house water supply line from 3/4 inch pipe to inch & a half! Dug a 100 metres trench from my big tank on top of the hill down to the house. Makes a hell of a difference in water pressure! I just LOVE playing with poly pipe and fitting! (Digging the trench wasnt so much fun - but the ground is the softest its been in years thanks to all the rain we've had!). |

Thanks Purple, Hi Dame. I have a pressure pump, but to save water in the terrible drought last summer I disconnected it - have been using gravity ever since but not really satisfactory in the shower - dodging to catch the drops! |

I gravity feed until I need to shower, I live in the desert so water is a big commodity.I had to use a ditch witch for the trenches as we put in our own lines for water and phone, great little machine.. |

We have just moved to this house and are about to start ripping it apart... But, we can't find the stop cock! Arghhh!!! The water pressure is amazing , the damage that will be done if something goes wrong before we get it sorted! Glad yours has been improved Michael, it makes a huge difference. Tina x |

A few years ago we had to have a bore hole dug for water as the well we used kept going dry....try three months without and having to collect 250 gallons twice a week. When on the well we were gravity fed but unfortunately there was a hump in the pipe further up the field so when it got low, the water that is we got a air lock and had to back pump. Bore hole isn't a great supply but is enough to for us not to run out. |
