I've got hooks that have been glued on to the window frames by previous owners. Any idea how to remove them, they're stuck fast?

If they are glued using the felt type sticky pads, get a thin piece of stout thread, and use it as a saw to cut through the pad,, a la cheese wire I needed to take off my car number plates, and it worked there... white spirit will usually remove traces of glue, as used on sticky labels Bob

Hello all, sorry Kay, theyre plastic hooks on UPVC windows and they're on every window in the house. He used them to hang net curtains. I;ve got white spirit, I'll try that and the polish - someone did mention nail polish remover.

Careful with the nail polish - test it first on a place that is well hidden. WD40 is quite good at penetrating the small space to soften the glue C

I would ring a double glazing company for advice as they deal with this kind of plastic all the time.
