keep changing the order of names on the Hotmail pages? When they came last night I had a look through and noted who was on which page. Today when I went to send PMs to some I found they were not on the pages I had noted. e.g. one person who had been on p19 was now on p4 and I certainly had not deleted more than a couple of names. It is soooo frustrating trying to find the ones I want to contact, particularly as the NEW flag has disappeared from them all. |

Sorry Huia, I haven't a clue what you are taking about, what names on pages and what messages do you mean. Also what new flags? Betty |

Oooops, I forgot to mention it was my Hotmatches. I could have sworn I had, but perhaps GR removed the word? By 'flag' I mean the word 'new' in yellow to make it noticeable. |

I think that Hot Matches sort be descending number of contacts, but is then random within that. So yes, you are correct it is a tad annoying as each time you load the page you see a different order. As far as the New Flag is concerned, I have plenty showing on mine. |

Yes, I know it is by descending number of contacts, buy why is somebody who had 1 match with mine on page 19 to start, then on page 4 next time I look, and another with 1 match started on page 7 then was on page 8 the next time. |

As I said, is is random so you can't predict the order in which the names will appear. It requires a small program change to sort alphabetically. |

But it is so frustrating when I want to take another look at somebody that I had previously seen on one page and have to look through all the pages to find them again. I guess I will have to delete most of the names I have so there are not so many to go through. |

My impression is that when you delete a contact on page 1, for example, instead of all the others moving up one line so they stay in the same order, the space left on page 1 is filled by a random hot match from some other page. |

Huia You can get round this to a certain extent by using your Contacts list instead of your Hot Match list - if you have contacted them, that is. As and when I open my Hot Matches (I mostly discard them) the few I am left with, I send off an opening message. Then I go to my Contacts list, find that person and give them a star rating of one star, which means I am awaiting a reply. The list easily sorts into star ratings and I can then find them. I delete non-genealogical messages from Contacts about once a week, to keep it manageable. OC |

I hadnt got round to deleting or sending off messages as it was late and I needed to get to bed. I intended to do the messages and deleting in the morning. They were people that I had not previously contacted so no good going to my contacts list. In future I will just have to stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning dealing with them, even though I know my OH will grumble. |
