This crops up from time to time, Sheila, and of course, living people should not be included without their consent. The 'numbers' thing can be misleading - I have 6000 in my off-gr tree but that's because I have listed all the 'marrieds' and their families. They're all related in some way and use a small selection of names so the only way to identify who's who is to include the whole lot! I rarely take info from others but I regularly pass on to others - my relatives are not mine wholly and solely.

I have noticed that a lot on people seem to be adding a lot of name to their tree, quite a few of my contact.. When i go back to look at there tree they have a lot of wrong connecting people. Some of my family who I knew as a child and into my teens are wrong on their trees. I have tried to tell them , I have documentary evidence of my facts ie family papers. But they take no notice. One chaps had a whole section that did not make sense, when I pointed this out, he said he had downloaded them from some one else tree. He had about 3000 names on his tree and I wonder if they are all misleading. It seems that a lot of people are only interested in how many names they have on there tree, and do not care about anything else. Has anyone else found this as well? Sheila
