Know of any fun, simple and a bit different to tombola/raffles etc. fundraising activites? They must be kept simple and be able to be done in the confines of the hospital ward where I work. I find it so hard to get prizes etc. together and I'm sure people get sick of receiving 'begging letters', Any ideas gratefully received.... Carol

one that went well at school was ten cups on tray under two were coloured blocks if they picked one with block they got prize, we had bottles of pop that had been donated and when that ran out we had loads of bubble baths that were donated as well,. Still need to get the donations though.

Guess how much in the jar - collect change from staff and visitors and put in coffee jar and have a guess how much is in for 20p a go or 3 goes for 50p. Doesn't cost much if everyone gives a bit and everyone likes to pick jar up and guess. Alternatively do with sweets/chocs if you get plenty given by grateful patients! Name the teddy etc Treasure map in squares with hidden cross under one Diary dates - buy a date for £1/50p, draw date out after so long and have a cash prize? With regards to prizes, do you have a local newspaper that has area correspondents? Ring them up and ask them to put something in asking for unwanted gifts etc for your fundraising. I'm sure there are plenty of people who have won things at school fairs and are just waiting to donate them back somewhere! Dawn

Treasure hunt. Ordnance survey map or similar of the local area overdrawn with squares. put name in a square. Map is stuck down by edges onto card. Under top copy of map pencilled in is the square that holds the treasure. To reveal winner undo top copy from card. Ann Glos
