I'm going on a field trip with 9 year old grandaughter (daughter's daughter) and her class. I went last Thursday with my other 9 year old grandaughter (son's daughter) and her class. Why can't they be in the same class? LOL We are walking to the local Country Park to go pond dipping, grass sweeping and mini beast hunting. I really enjoyed myself last week, although it was tiring. The weather was just right - dry but not too sunny. Can I be lucky a second time? Roll on next year when I can do it again with my grandson and his class ;o)))) Sue xx

I used to love my trips to the field study centre at Canterbury and went with all 3 of my children's classes in turn....and a few more years without them as a helper for other classes. The teacher booked for the following year as soon as we returned from a trip. We used to go early autumn and besides pond dipping and follow-up lab. work, we walked and found 'mini beasts' and had a wonderful time. I hope the weather is kind to you and that you enjoy your day. Hope the weather stays fine for you all, I used to love helping with my son's class and also 'my' class when I was a dinner lady. Don't think I would have the stamina now, and definitely won't when I finally have grandchildren lol will be far too old I should think the way things are going with my son, leading the bachelor life!
