Jenny, I am a little confused and think you may be also. You are, of course very welcome to join us but we are voting for the book we will read in July/august from the list in the first post on this thread. These were suggestions made in the past couple of days. Actually we have read rebecca and reviewed it a few months back, a great book. Ann Glos

I am pretty sure that everyone who is going to vote has voted but I had better leave it until the 5pm deadline. As it stands we were pretty well spread out with one vote each, until Jude the Obscure leaped ahead (by one). I am almost tempted to say read your choice and review, but as we do have a winner, better not. I may struggle with this as I don't always like Hardy. Ann Glos

'Payback Time' is going OK.....the copy in the local library keeps being borrowed, and it's now listed on Amazon etc. The problem is how to increase publicity. If you get time, would you request it from your local library, (even if you don't read it!)and thay may buy a copy ? Fingers crossed for 'Jude' and I managed to borrow 'The Memory Keepers Daughter' this morning from our library, so just await the second 'ordinary' result. Alf

OK Alfie, can you PM me the details again in case they ask for publisher etc. Maybe we could all request ir and read and review it over and above our other books??? (Wrong thread for this so will mention it again later) Dee, I blame you for voting for Jude the Obscure you know how I just love Hardy!!!!!! This morning I have been in every charity shop looking for Jude, plus the second hand shop, then went to the library where they are supposed to have a copy on the shelf, but for the second time after bussing into gloucester especially, it was out. tony has offered to take me to another library where they are also supposed to have a copy tomorrow. if I can't get it from the library in time to read it I will miss out on the classic this time. Vote result going up soon. Ann Glos
