The LEA have finally made a decision. The school we wanted him to go to in september is no more because they have no room to cater for him. Every other special school in the area are completely full. So, the Head of AEN department at LEA took the case to County on Friday and decided that they are going to pay for him to go to independent school. We are looking at a school tomorrow that has only 16 children in whole school, that all have similar needs and ability. I finally had something to tell him today and he is chuffed to bits that he will have somewhere to go in September. Nicola |

Thank you Penny and Jan Has been a long struggle from getting the right diagnosis, statement and schools. Is terrible how the system is, finally we are getting some luck our way, his primary school have been fantastic they have done wonders with him to bring his education to the standard that it is now. He is an extremely intellegent boy, he has Aspergers which is quite severe in a lot of areas. Unfortunately there isn't really any schools that can cater for a child with severe needs that is above average in education. thx again Nicola |

Thank you Maggie, Purple and Carole We looked at school this evening and was really impressed with it, he was really excited and told them that he wants to go there lol We walked in and he made himself at home and clearly didn't want to come home. The School is in a farm house and they have just in process of renovated the barn into workshops, they said that if he goes there, there will only be 6 in his class and will be with children his own age or there abouts. We just have to wait now to see if they will give him a place and whether the LEA agree to it. Thanx again, Love to you all too Carole, will have to catch up with you at some point, hope you are all well. Nicola xxx |
