any veggies growers about?

i am looking for some advice please, me being very new to veggie growing, i am some beetroot plants in and have picked 4 of them and i was wondering how do i prepare them like how u get in the shops, sorry for sounding stupid

Hiya TW. i grow some veg, esp beetroot as good for you! I just pick them, boil them for about 40 mins depending how big they are of course. If unsure use a sharp knife to test that they're cooked. Leave them to cool, and enjoy!!

will just add don't cut off the leaves or root as they will bleed, another way to test if done if you pinch the skin and it comes of easily, enjoy Norah

Afternoon, I have just mullered my outdoor grape vine. I hope I haven't done it any harm. It was running amock down the side of my house and was like a jungle. I have cut back all the long shoots and can now see masses of grapes but have I done the right thing? Bit late now if I have. Aileen xxx
