birds with one stone little birds big stone . im going o newcastle/sunderland tomorrow to pick up a awning , whilst im there i could do some research on my tree . A few questions, how could i find out where my nan was cremated/burried. 2 i presume i could go to a records office in sunderland where some relies were born and get details of christnings, hoping to find out who my grandads dad was. 3can you take birth certificates in there i have forgotton. 4 i cant phone them as i will have left in morning by time there open. 5 i will think of some more in a minute

I would take all the info with you Puss, take a note book with it all written down, questions you need to ask etc Good luck

Take copies of your certs, in case you lose them. Put them in a see through pocket, take pencil and rubber (no pens allowed), plus a notebook with everything you need to find. Not all ROs allow digital cameras to be used. To find baptisms you will need to use a fisch or film machine (depends on what they have) and it may be they don't have one free if you have not booked so be prepared for that. Ann Glos

thanks all, i have asked on tips, if i remember write i think my next step was records office , so going to check the genuki thingy now., im all eggsited going to boar specky with where in was born and reminise lol, and hopefully find where my nans ashes are or place and take some flowers, hope i find some skeletons in the closet when im up there , hoping to stay for three days

i dont mind at all lesley, very gratefull for the reminders, as sussex was a disaster as i was ment to be in another town, last year lol.

lol lesley, this is going to be a long three days poor specky will need a holiday, he has a sat nav so hopefully we wont get to lost , just going to look cemetries up now x
