I have had a new PC for 2 weeks now and mostly have had no problems. Vista seems to be OK........................... But I do have a problem with the times and dates on e mails, both those received by me and those received by others that I have sent. They are almost 12 hours out....................................... My computer clock is correct and is a 24 hour clock.......................................... The time and date showing on my sent e mails is correct........................... Has anyone come across this before and how can I adjust it? Or is it an ISP problem? Ann Glos |

Hullo Ann Why do you say the time on the emails is wrong? In most cases with an email the time will have a time zone after it (depends on the system you are using as to how easy this is to see) If your outgoing emails have the right time there is nothing wrong with your pc. However one or two ISPs have had problems within the last five days so it might be taking a long time to reach you. One of our academic organisations holds all emails which are not 'Priority' until midnight. Could this approach be part of the problem? Clive |

clive, thanks, no, I am e mailing my daughter and checking. I have two e mail addresses. On a test I sent an e mail to her from me at 10.14am today (8th). She shows the time/date when she received it (i.e. the sent time/date) as 11.14pm on 8th. The second one from the other address I sent at 10.15am on the 8th and it is showing as 11.15pm on the 8th. My sister sent me an e mail and I checked the time she sent it with her - 09.47 on the 8th. My computer is showing it as sent at 20.48 on the 7th. Do you think it is maybe a Blueyonder problem then? ann Glos |

Ann In Windows Express If you right click on an incoming emails, move down on the pop-up screen to Properties and click; on the new pop-up go to details and scroll down a bit (probably, may show with screening down) you will see something about when the originator sent it COMPLETE with time zone it looks like this Sun, 8 Jul 2007 09:59:54 +0100 At present a +0100 means somebody's pc is keeping UK summer time (In the winter it has +0000).. If you get some other figure the computer is not set up as in the right geographic zone. Does this help at all? Clive |

Hi Clive I think we have sorted it. Although my computer was showing the right time, when we went into the clock/date we found it was not set to GMT. having changed that it now seems to be OK. Thank you for your help. ann Glos |
