I'm researching Hannah CHILDS born in 1855 in NUNEATON, Warwickshire. The problem is I can't find her before her marriage to William Savage in 1871 in Nuneaton. Everytime I search for her a Hannah Childs born in 1848 turns up and I can't find mine.

Karen, are you sure she was b in 1855? What is that based on? Sometimes ages were falsified, eg she might have been marrying somebody who was actually younger than herself and didnt want him to know. But if it was based on the 1861 census then it was probably correct. Remember that some births were not registered in those days. Have you tried looking at Parish Reg for a baptism? Though even that can be misleading unless the date of birth or age of the child is added. Have you looked for a marriage of another person of that name? Have you got her death cert? Did she have any siblings you could track?
