Hi Kath, it's good to know there haven't been problems in your area I guess it is down, to some extent, to the attitude of the publican/landlord . Let's hope not too many of them are like yours Caz

Cant be nice if you live in a flat above the pub if you have your window open. I know somebody who was going to look at a flat with the intention of buying it. They changed their mind because there was a pub near it and all the smokers were below the flat and it was pretty noisey. Marion

Live across the road from a pub. Smoking ban been in force here in Wales since April 2nd, and haven't noticed a lot of diffeence to be honest. As I lok out across road now, I can see 2 men standing outside. Kath

If locals do complain of nuisance I guess it could ultimately affect the renewal of licences. It will give added fuel to those who constantly complain about pubs in their area, even though the pubs have been in the area considerably longer than the houses surrounding them Strange how one change in law can have a knock on effect, and change lifestyles so dramatically Dee xx

dont often go to town but yesterday there were a lot of people smoking outside the entrance to the shopping centre. Made me wonder as they are still under cover and I still breathed in their smoke. Couldnt avoid it to enter the shops.

Hi Dee, At this time of the year with what should be summer weather I dont think it will be greatly increased as most usually go outside when its hot into Beer Gardens or even sitting on pavements,,,,,but come the autum will present a more truer insight.

Have just battled my way past my local pub (across the road), but being a cranky old biddy, I made sure that they stood back and let me sail by! lol BC

I think that it probably will yes and i hadnt thought of that..........it means more people pouring on to the streets that once would have been inside and us passers by would have been none the wiser..now i worry about the drunken learing.

In view of the new regulations that have just come in to force concerning smoking I would guess that this weekend will see an increase in the number of people using the outdoor facilities at pubs. Do you think that this will cause an increase in ‘noise nuisance’ to those who live near pubs??
