Has anyone got any good ideas for activities or craft sessions suitable for toddlers? my group love making things and trying new things but after 16 years I'm stuck for new things to do.

Hi Paula My little girl isnt a toddler, but all kids love cooking, at her primary school thay have just done their own healthy recipe book and all children were involved making simple recipes such as fruit salad and smiley faces. They all loved it maybe you could try that out. Sharmala

Having done my stint in the past as a Nursery Nurse, I used to use a book called 'Play and Learning for Under 3's' It was a freebie from Nursery World but if you can get it, the ISBN is 1-84122-010-8. I used to use it a lot for planning stuff and a couple of parents borrowed it in the past for 'rainy day ideas'. Have fun!

No Kim,haven't heard of sparklebox but will have a look.We have done cake decorating in the past and we often have fruit but have never tried making smiley faces with them.today we made a giant ice cream cone poster with cotton wool and squares of brown and yellow paper glued on to the cone with glitter and sequins for the sprinkles. We pinned it up on the board and then everyone got a real one to decorate with flakes and raspberry sauce and sprinkles. Even the mums loved this one. Weve had a chocolate fountain and last week we made itsy bitsy spiders climbing up the spout with kitchen roll tubes and egg cartons and pipe cleaners.

Ive a 16 month old, she enjoys painting (be prepared for the mess lol.), and playing in water with various small toys. Craft wise I cant really think of anything else, at that age theyre too small for scissors. Music circles always work tho, passing a drum around to bang while youre singing.
