That terminology used to be reserved for the crowds at Wimbledon. After seeing snippets of the Serena Williams match I wonder if it should be addressed to the players instead. What a flaming racket (sorry) they make with their grunting. Completely unnecessary. It puts me off watching any tennis. I must be getting old. Aileen xxx |

No I agree with you Aileen, was watching some earlier and the grunting and screaming coming from both the players was so off putting I ended up not watching the game but getting more and more irritated by the stupid noises they were making.Angie x |

Haven't a clue who won that match. I kept getting bits of it while I was visiting all my elderly peeps and most of them were watching tennis but with the sound turned down! I thought it was just me who was getting irritated by it but even young people like my daughters who go to Wimbledon every year find it is becoming a real turnoff. As to the downpours..... Every time I got out the car last night and today I got soaked. What makes it worse is that most of my peeps have their central heating on and five mins after being in their homes my clothes started to steam! Aileen xxx |

I had an embarrassing moment thanks to their grunting! I was upstairs, daughter and boyfriend were downstairs in the living room. I went to go downstairs and heard - well umm sounds from daughter & b/f. Oooh dear - loo is downstairs, through living room & I was desperate. I wondered if they had forgotten I was upstairs, so started making a lot of noise. Thumped down the stairs - still the noise was going on. Got to the bottom, waited, then shouted Cooo eee, I'm here!! Still the noise went on, I peered round the door. They were innocently sat on the sofa. Tennis on TV, sound turned down, making the grunting noises for the players!!!!! maggie |

Ooops. Just had a thought Maggie. Imagine if I had gone into one of my elderly couples in their 90's tonight and had heard that coming from the living room. I'd have thought they had overdosed on the Viagra! Aileen xxx |
