I remember my eldest having that (about 20 years ago). I can't remember anything much about it, other than the fact she had a bright red patch on one side of her face. Hope Tiddler feels better soon. :-)))

Yep shes already had it this year and its called that cos they look like they have been slapped on the cheeks. Shes ok in herself if a little crotchetty found out today her nursery teachers daughter had it a couple of weeks ago and as chickenpox and german measles is going round the nursery looks like just another one to add to the list.

German Measles? Will they never find an injection that actually works?

Fiona I had german measles 3 times before I had the rubella jab at school so made sure mine had it in the MMR. Eldest when she went into year one got it even after the jab and they think as hers was a mixed class of reception and year 1 the reception on had preschool jab and maybe one was a strong carrier so daughter caught it.

My younger daughter had the MMR but she found when she was pregnant that she had no immunity to Rubella - luckily there were no ill - effects and she had the injection again after baby was born. I've told my elder daughter that, even though she had the MMR twice, she MUST have a blood test to check her immunity before she gets pregnant :-)))
