I lost a few people who are really special to me....including my nan who brought me up along side my folks, my dads step mum and a few other people in my life. I miss them all dearly I want people to post me some happy times stories of some one they lost.......dont think people remember their loved ones enough when they are alive, so lets try and keep the memory alive once they are gone. My story is....all be it not very long, but regardless a fond memory of a lady i only had 14 years of my life to build memories of. Nan just got a perm.....i thought she looked distinctly like a poodle so i said so, with all the childhood innocence you have aged 10....with that she decided to chase me around the room barking at me : ) Please leave stories, no matter how short and silly : ) Happy times |

My Dad grounded me once (the first and last time he ever did) for a week. All my mates were going to the disco in West Malling, but I was grounded so wouldn't be......but I decided Shirley-ann will go to the disco. So early Friday night came, I stuffed my bed to make it look like I was in it asleep, climbed onto the porch via the landing window, across and down the drain pipe. Went to disco, good time was had, got home climbed back in, went to bed, task accomplished. Next evening Dad said, 'you went out last night didn't you' 'No, I'm imprisoned for a week remember' i said 'No need to lie Shirley-ann, Jimmy next door saw you climbing down the drain pipe' Flippin neighbour had grassed me up. I got given another weeks confinement, but Dad relented after day two as he thought I was a cheeky, brave mare to defy him, so he let me free!! |

To-day would have been my mum's 85th Birthday she passed away Feb 2006. I have mentioned this story before Mum was registered blind and one day she decided she would do Rhubub and custard for my uncles tea, when he went to dish it up he wondered what;s this in the bottom of the rhubub saucepan! it was the dish cloth agh!! She was forever burning her Sunday Lunch and I often would arrive the same time as the fire brigade was leaving, as the fire alarm would have gone off in the building. I love and miss her very much. Carol Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. |

I have so many funny memories of my grand parents & Dad. Our house was always filled with fun & laughter always someone playing the fool!! One summer my grandfather took my sisters and I on for a walk . I was in flip flops. He amused everyone greatly that he should take us on a tour round a pig farm & through the yard that was covered in pig filth!! Guess who ended up with it all splashed up the back of her legs?? yes me Much happiness Debi |

Yorkshire pudding was a subject of great discussion in our house on a Sunday. We always had YP whatever the roast was. If Mum had cooked that weeks lunch, Dad would tongue in cheek criticize it and say it wasn't as good as his. If Dad cooked it, he'd say how nice it was and how better his YP was compared to Mum's. Dad always liked my cooking and said I cooked like his mum, my nan, as she was a professional cook. I know if I ever went to a Medium and Mum & Dad came through and the YP gets mentioned, that'll be enough to convince me that there's life after death!! I just know they would HAVE to mention it. |

Ha ha ha thats great.....famillies are so competitive arent they lol. I have memories of being in my grandads house, he had converted his cellar into a bar so the family gathered there at christmas and most other occasions......grandads wife (dads late step mother) drank double vodka and lemonade, as children we played barman was the highlight of our weeks lol Well aged about 7 decided that aunty sheila's drink looked tasty.......took a glass and filled mine with the same, drank a massive gulp of it and the whole place erupted into laughter....the face i pulled was a picture.........wish they had taken one now lol |

My dad was such a warm, caring and loving man who NEVER hit any of his five children, he rarely ever raised his voice. I was his youngest. He caught me smoking with a friend aged 14. he tutted but never grassed on me to my mum. |
