3 weeks ago we went over to sky for tv phone and broadband and rent the line of bt, we had a new number as well, since day one we have had phone calls and when i pick up the phone and say hello i get like a fax kind of noise after a week i phone bt to let them no whats going on and the guy gave me a phone number for silent calls to register my number and it would supposinly stop these calls, but we are still getting these calls so yesterday i phones bt again and speaks to someone who tells me to phone this number for silent calls to register my number and i said ive already done that and this guy was pretty arrogant over the phone and then tells me to change my number but y should i ive only had this number 3 weeks, anyway i new i wasnt going to get anywhere with this guy so i sents a email to bt and am waiting for them to get back to me, in the meantime today ive already had 6 of these calls up to now and they r simply doing my head in, any ideas what i can do next? |

I assume you have tried finding the number these calls come from. Sounds like computerised calls which should have stopped if you are registered with the telephone preference site. Ann Glos |

I would guess that the number you have been issued with was previously used by a fax machine and someone else's fax is unaware that it's been re-allocated to you. Can you fax back to tell them they've got the wrong number? |

You can do it by computer, but I think you need a modem connection rather than broadband. If you want I could do it if you PM me. Update: no I can't without the sender's number ! |
