I went to York for the weekend knowing full well that part of the train journey would be by coach due to flooding. When I went to my local train station the ticket part was closed but the employee was outside and he told me to buy a ticket on the train and tell them they were to busy. The first part of the train journey a guard never bothered checking tickets so I didnt buy one. When I got of that train I was shuffled onto a coachfor Doncaster so still no ticket. I then had a dilemma of whether to buy a ticket or just jump on the next train. I only had a couple of minutes to spare so quickly bought a single from Doncater to York.......Bear with this one cos this is good |

My normal return fare is £25.50. The single to York was £7.60. What annoyed me is the fact tht nobody checked my ticket from Doncaster to York. When I got there I went to check the price of a single home and it was going to be £23.......... So I explained what had happened and she changed my single to a return charging another £9. So I could then return to Doncaster. Today I got on the train at York again no ticket inspection. When I got to Doncaster there was a coach again back to the the last train home. I then purchased a single ticket back home costin £9.60 and that was the only time that I had my ticket checked. So in effect I could have made the entire journey for £9.60 instead of £25.50 and all this when we are supposed to be under a terror threat. |

LLC When Helen and I got on the train at York the conductor came round and just walked straight past both of us and Helen had her ticket on the table ,I had mine in my hand waiting for him but I think we were invisible yesterday. Then when we got to Leeds that was the only time the staff took our tickets and we had a bomb scare in the centre of Leeds.Police/Firebrigade everywhere. Suexxxxxxx |

the train from York was absolutley overcrowded with bags and cases all over. Couldnt help thinking how easy it would be to put a bomb on a train and then get of at the next station. I just hope that never happens |

Me and the other half are coming down from Inverness to york in september and what they do on the long journey's from inverness is to put all bags in a seperate compartment, you can only take a hangbag on with you. I know what you mean about being over-crowded though,as when we came up to scotland the bags were packed tightly at the front of the carriage.Doesn't bear thinking about if someone left a 'bag' on the train, its certainly making me more nervous about travelling down.
