My son has just phoned from New York. His flight is in 20 minutes. His ticket was ripped by the hotel staff and the airport staff will not accept it until they have confirmation that it is his ticket. He phoned me for the tel. no. of the Hotel as it was quicker than looking it up at the airport. I just want him home now.

Jan, do you really think he will be able to catch a later flight? I know he hasn't the money to buy another ticket. I really can't think straight, I am willing him to phone me. Thank you. x

Don't understand this - I didnt need a ticket the last time I flew, it was all done electronically, and only a passport is needed to confirm you are who you say you are. Someone being a jobsworth I dare say. He will be home before you know it. OC

It's a Mum's job to worry, as we all know, no matter how young or old our kids are. I am sure everything will work out ok and your son will be laughing at your tears when you welcome him home, well a Mum's job is also to get tearful and embarrass our kids eh? Try to get some sleep ready to hear all about his journey later on. Lizx

Is he home yet?

Thank you for your replies and concern. He did manage to get on the flight home, but his luggage didn't. At least he is ok. I was just being silly.... being on my own and having news 24 on in the back ground, - airports, the fact he works in London , not far from The Haymarket (even though he wasn't there) and all sorts of soppy things were going round my head. T-M they're probably being extra cautious cos of what's been going on here. I was watching CNN news and security in the states is being stepped up. He'll be okay, worse ways on, they'll put him on a later flight!!
