I have been sat thinking of a way to help flood victims. Not Just in Yorkshire but anywhere. I thought of an idea, similar to ebay where people who knew of any victims could use this thread in asking for donations of clothing, food or even furniture (if transport could be arranged) . Unlike Ebay the items would be donated free. I know it needs alot more working out. But what do you think? LLx |

Great idea.... that is why you are a LADY!! ;-0) It would be a long time though before they will be able to put any furniture back in the houses. Where will they live in the meantime? Deanna X |

Deana, I have no idea where people are living at moment. Comunity centres? Rellies? All I do know is that some homes that people have been forced to leave, have been looted. These people are suffering enough, without lowlifes like that looting what bits these people have left. Caz, thanks, I am willing to donate clothing I WAS going to sell on Ebay. I would welcome any other ideas. LLx |

I would also like to point out that children also will have lost toys as well as clothing. So thats something else to think about. LLx |

Please, if anyone has any better ideas they would be welcome. Thanks LLx |

Don't you love the criminal classes?? How could they? I think though Lady (my aunties name that!) that money may be a better idea to start with. Then furniture when the houses are dry and habitable. Going for tea now too. Deanna X |

Hi Lesley, The thread I put up was really just to offer help in the way of donating clothing etc, to anyone who may have lost things in the flood. I found the 'Money' thing just by googling about the floods. I agree with what you say though. I would not personally donate money. Do you think I should delete that particular message with Hallam FM info and Yorkshire bank? LLx |
