Get them to buy you certificates. Give them the ref no and the website address gro.gov and away you go! My OH gave me a £100 as a christmas pressie to buy 'dead rellies' When my birthday came along in August he said 'I'm not giving you any more money 'cos you haven't spent the last lot yet' I pointed out to him that I'd bought 7 certificates within the first week and my sub to ancestry. Just because I don't make a song and dance of it. |

In the past I have put on christmas list - Burial list and marriages list from my local history society, death/marriage and birth certs - bit of moaning esp when it came to burial and death but as I pointed out it is my hobby - my husband's is golf - no one moans about buying him golf things. Help them to help you. |

It is hard for people to know what to buy the woman who has everything lol Why not keep a running list of things you would like or need and leave it pinned up where the family can take a look? That way they can still buy you something, it will be a bit of a surprise cos you won't know what they will choose from the list and you won't have so much unwanted stuff. But do try to let them see you using some of the things you already have, it must have given them a tough time trying to find something you would enjoy receiving and like that everyone is happy. The rest of the things you can put on ebay lol Liz |

Why not ask for subscriptions from them instead? That way you'll get something you want and use it!! I did! Got my Genes and Ancestry for my birthday. Dawn. |
