OMG.....but sadly this is normal.....A friend of mine, her mum went into hospital and my friend refused to have her mum home till her mum was all better .....coz she to had young children and work...........It seems the only way to do this is ....NOT to come home till you are all better ......Bed blocking! call the GP ... |

Ask the GP to fill in the form for Attendance Allowance, that is not means tested and can be used to pay for the extra help he obviously needs. Another good idea is to phone Age Concern, they will visit him if needed and give him details of any other benefits he is entitled to and fill the forms in for him. As far as Social Services go, unless you keep on and on at them, nothing seems to happen.........from my experience trying to get help for my Mum who has Alzheimers. Good luck |

Tell your grandaughter to get in touch with her M P Joyce and tell him what's going on,the social services won't want him on their case. Also ,tell them that if she has to give up work to look after him it will cost them one hell of a lot more, supporting her and her children. Get her in touch with the mp who is in charge of the ministry for schooling as well ,they won't be pleased at the possibility of loosing a good teacher ,and will probably give social sevices a good kicking too.Fred. |

Could she ask her Doctor's surgery for help / advice.? Is he having after-care eg. to change dressings etc? She can't be expected to do everything for everybody or her own health will suffer. I hope they can get something sorted. Gwyn |
