Does anyone know the story behind the legend of the pied piper? Apparently, 130 children dissapeared from Hamlen, Germany in 1284. I've googled and couldn't find anything on it.......Deb:) |

Google 'Pied Piper of Hamelin' - it's a legend made into a fairy tale by Brothers Grimm (I think)! |

Deb, It is a magical place, went there in the 80s. Unfortunately, we missed the regular re-enactments they do of the children being charmed away. The townspeople really do make the most of the fairytale. Elisabeth |

I'm totally fascinated with this story. There's no logical explanation for what happened to the children. Deb:) |

I can't remember when, but I think there was something on the TV recently about a town in Austria or Switzerland which was inhabited by all the children from Hameln! |
