Does anyone know the story behind the legend of the pied piper? Apparently, 130 children dissapeared from Hamlen, Germany in 1284. I've googled and couldn't find anything on it.......Deb:)

Google 'Pied Piper of Hamelin' - it's a legend made into a fairy tale by Brothers Grimm (I think)!

Deb, It is a magical place, went there in the 80s. Unfortunately, we missed the regular re-enactments they do of the children being charmed away. The townspeople really do make the most of the fairytale. Elisabeth

I'm totally fascinated with this story. There's no logical explanation for what happened to the children. Deb:)

I can't remember when, but I think there was something on the TV recently about a town in Austria or Switzerland which was inhabited by all the children from Hameln!
