Shame you can't go to Kentwell Yvette, that was one I didn't go on either lol I made the outfit for my lad and it looked great, a year or so later the woman up the road asked if she could borrow it for her son, my boy's pal, and of course I said yes. She was very surprised when I got annoyed cos her lad lost the hat, couldn't seem to see what the fuss was all about, but then she hadn't spent time and effort making it, snotty mare! I didn't even get told straightaway, just noticed when she handed the things back it wasn't there and had to ask where it was. He was such a pompous lad too and we were never as friendly again. Would like to have kept it for my lad to find when he was older and have the memories of a great day out, it's the hat that really makes the outfit isn't it? Hope your lad has a lovely time and doesn't come home too muddy. Liz

No Tina, just a picture of an outfit a boy might wear. As needlework is not a strong point of mine (unless it's cross-stitch ) i have several sore fingers and my blood pressure was all over the place, but it looks ok and more importantly Adam likes it :-) To be fair to my boss, she did give me a reason for the no, but that doesn't make it any easier to swallow :-(

I'm glad you mastered the hat Yvette, did they give you that piece of paper telling you how to do it? I was really useless at it. Your boss - what a meanie! LOL Tina x

Mary and Grannie Annie, it sounds like you both have some great memories, i think my possible sulk has just become fact, lol If you hear lots of huffing and foot stamping tuesday...it's me :-)

Hi Tina, 5 costumes...you must be pretty good at it by now then :-) My daughter went about 14 years ago and really enjoyed it, luckily her costume was really easy. I found Adam's needed a bit more thought, but with a few brainwaves i managed to get it done. The hat was the trickiest.

Hi Yvette It's absolutely brilliant when they have the Tudor days, I'm sure he will have a wonderful time. When I went they had little piglets running around and everything, it was great. Mary

When my children were young we always had a tudor day each year. All shopkeepers and even bank staff would all dress up tudor style. All schoolchildren in all schools would dress up and walk through the town. Then children would all play the old fashioned games. The day would turn into evening with a small funfair and finally 10pm a candlelit walk into the gardens for a firework display.Have lovely photos and memories of these days. Annie

HI Yvette, I have done 5 outfits for Kentwell Hall over the years, and they all had a fantastic time. The atmosphere is just as it would have been in Tudor times, all my children really enjoyed the day. Tina x

Has anyone been to one of their tudor days? i have just spent the day making Adam a costume ready for tuesday and he looks so good. I may well spend all day tuesday sulking as i would love to go, and as a governor was asked to attend but my mean boss wouldn't let me have the day off :-((
