I have found the birth record of a relative who I believe died at a very young age, possibly soon after birth. I am unable to find any matches when searching the death records even though I have the name and year of birth, I have unchecked the exact matches box but still getting no matches at all. Does anyone have any suggestions please? I am searching on Ancestry. Lynn

Lynn Put this on the tips board The general board moves very fast and this will get lost, plus the general board is more for general items rather than genealogical . Shirley

Lynn, Are you sure he died? Maybe he went to live with another member of the family? Pat

Hello Lynn, Are you looking at the FreeBMD's? If so that could be the reason. These are transcribed and incomplete. Look through the complete death records. Also, it could be the simple case of the record being missing. I've noticed that while looking for a death cert. Do you know what date the child was born? Depending on the circumstances, the death may not have been registered. Carole
