Jayne You will only be able to get the original birth certificate if you know the person's birth name. Adoption severs all connection with the birth family and you will not be able to connect the two names, without more information. The system is designed that way on purpose. OC

I was wondering whether anybody can help with this question please? If someone has been adopted will I still beable to get their original birth certificate, as I have and it says at the end 'adopted' is this correct as somebody has told me only the adopted certificate should be available. Thanks for your advice in advance. Jayne
