After a four month period, and with the help of 'Family Reunited',it seems l have been able to reunite my friend and his brothers, after over fifty years apart. What started as a gentle conversation, about family tree building, with my friends wife, and her saying that her husband cant do his,as he was fostered out as a two year old, along with his brothers who went too different foster parents,l took it on my self to see what l could do. And now my friend and one of his brothers are in connact, and he has a contact address for the other. It has, although l didnt think it would be,a very heavy burden to carry, when confronted with positive leads, but also a very heart rendering when confronting my friend and his wife with my findings. |

Hi Bernie Well done to you! I think if someone asks you for help and you have the knowledge and tools to do it, then you have to. I have helped people find natural parents siblings etc on the trying to find boards... all this is an area that has to be treaded carefully upon. I do think that if you ask for help then you must also face the reality that there maybe rejection or in some cases bereavement. It takes an awful lot of courage to deliver whatever info you find, as you said. Personally I was rejected after tracing two first cousins, the events surrounding their dad were extreme to say the least but I had to remind myself that what went on xx years ago was nothing at all to do with me. I have spent many many years wondering what if, but know at least I have done everything I could to make contact. I hope they have just put the letter away and in time who knows? |

What a wonderful thing to do Bernie, where are you in Norfolk? I am in Norwich, as are a few other members on here. Liz |

Have you been on before? You will have to look out and see when we arrange a meet. We haven't had one for a while but there are several of us in and around Norwich and Norfolk and it is good to get together. Liz |
