Sadly manners are in short supply these days! I always say thank you to people as my Daddy taught me well and I love it when I see the smiles it creates! xx

I am a stickler for manners and it cost nothing does it. If I hold a door open and no one says thank you I make sure I push it back into their faces, or I stop dead and wont let them past until they say thank you, if they start tutting I usually reply 'the words we use are Thank you' that always does the trick. The other thing Ive found as well is if you say Excuse me, people look at you as if you have used the F word. To be honest people in this day and age without manners were obviously dug up and not brought up. Yvonne

I was brought up to be polite to people but when I am barged past or hold a door open and don't get an excuse me or thank you I now say very loudly that manners are one thing they don't charge for. It tends to embarrass my mum and even my other half but it's so very true. Sarah xx
