Should have made it clear that m.i.l can afford to pay this, she's one of the lucky ones. This was done privately. If she had had it done through the dentist it would have been nearer £700. Then I would have fainted lol. Lin x

OMG.....I am going to the Dentist today, and I think I'll ask him to superglue all my teeth in. just in case........£700.....it is OK if you are working, but what happens when you aren't..... I bet MiL will be smiling to show of her new teeth now.....

What a shock for your MiL Lin, and what a price hike!.....not knowing prices of false gnashers it surprised me.......most people who need these services are on a pension......how are they meant to afford it.......or do they get assistance if they are on a low pension??? Same sort of story with my MiL and glasses.... I really hope that advances have been made in the last 20 years, and she can go out in confidence in her new pearly-whites....

Took m.i.l. to get fitted for some new teeth !!!! Really nice guy who also did f.i.l's teeth. He's from South Africa and in relative terms hasn't been here that long. Anyway fitting went very well, m.i.l. seemed quite happy, nice man asked her when she last had new teeth ? 20 years ago said m.i.l. Nice man picked himself off the floor. M.i.l. looks at me and asks ' how much ? ' ( she is a bit deaf ). Nice man says £490, m.i.l. nearly faints. ' The last lot only cost me £20 ' she says. Nice mans turn he nearly faints................ Me........I'm in hysterics. Inflation !!!!! Lin x
