Foggy.... I agree its just as bad.... but its still just discrimination so why does it have its own name?

They all mean the same... I think anything anything based on on distinction between people on the basis of class/race or category without regard to that individual merit is wrong.

Is there a difference between discrimination, sexism and racism? I personally don't think so and therefore I don't understand them having different words to justify the action! Isn't racism just a discrimination against race? Just an opinion and wondered if anyone else agreed with me?

It's all discrimination, just falls into different catagories, to bring up a suite for rascial discrimination you would follow the guidelines of the race relations act, sexual discrimination the sexual harassment act ect.,..Hope this helps..

I agree that they are all the same and therefore all wrong but why do some have a different priority and given their own word to describe?

There is a disability act and yet it doesn't have its own word! WHY?

I think discrimination is usually qualified by 'on the grounds of ... ' whereas the 'isms' state clearly in one word. not sure otherwise lol Maz. XX

There's sex discrimination. race discrimination and age discrimination and no doubt a few more such expressions In our debasement of the English language they have been reduced to sexism, racism and ageism. len

The labels aren,t the issue ,the law states what is acceptable and what is not . Discrimination is not acceptable in all of these area,s of society. Kim xx

No of course there not, but it interesting that there isnt an 'ism' for disability...can you think of another group/race that doesnt have an 'ism' to describe it?
