This has taken about 10 years of trying and I think because today I gave him a copy of an article I had published in The Scottie Press, Liverpool about his family with information I have found myself made him somehow relax a bit. I was so worried he would react badly but he went off, read it and came back smiling saying it was really good and pointed out one mistake and that is what got him to open up and talk. Oh dear the screen is blurred, I am having a winge. |

Went to a family BBQ yesterday and got my dad tipsy. He never talks about his childhood, lost his parents at a young age and went into a home. Today I being a bit tipsy myself asked a few little questions to test the water and ended up sat there with a note pad and pen! He told me his memories of his family and home and some stories, answered questions I had wanted answers to for such a long time. I felt like crying my eyes out. |
