the trouble is, even when they have been you have to wheedle it out of them, like getting blood from a stone. nothing changes there. But, yes I think a phone call from the parents to all the other parents would have been in order. Who knows what people are like these days, you read so many things. But, anyway, she is home safe and obviously had a good time. Ann Glos |

I may have misunderstood. Did you take your girl to the party and bring her back afterwards? If yes then you had some knowledge as to what was going on - and you could have asked where they were going and still have left as a surprise to the young ones. My kids have this sort of problem with my grandchildren but OH and I did not thank goodness. Not that the risks were any smaller. Clive |

I think I would have informed the parents-like the time I gave my son a surprise party it was going to be at the local park cos they have a bbq for us to use-rain stopped play - but all the parents knew where we were going. |

I'm with you on this, a bit weird. I remember years ago my son...then 12 wanting to go to Wales to see a rugby match with a man who was a long distance lorry driver.... I said no, but the other boys mother said yes!! We had so many tears, and when the other boy came home safe, I was not flavour of the month. But 33 years later, I still think I was right. I hope it was a good party, but you are right! Deanna X |
