thanks everyone, I think we will be wondering under big black clouds if the weather forecast is right. Caz, yes, hope to see you, but don't worry if you can't manage it. Forgot to say, it is a bit hit and miss with the mobile when we are at Backbarrow, we have to wait until we drive out of the valley!!!! Ann Glos

Elisabeth, Oh dear, yes I am sure it would be miserable in B&B, luckily we have heating and washing machine, all mod cons and a lovely river flowing past the window to watch (quite a bit lower than the property! Our friend is up there this week so she will have had it wet. We have not been up for a few years having exchanged out but decided to go this year. We invariably don't have good weather. Ann Glos

Well, the long range forecast was 60%chance of rain most days so not looking too good, but it is the lake district. Timeshare so a nice swimming pool and lots of places to visit indoors. Hoping to get a few walks in but wont worry if we can't we love it up there, and the scenery is beautiful rain or shine. Ann Glos

Ann, My son and wife went to the Lake District mid-week for a walking holiday, staying in bed-and-breakfast. They rang me yesterday during their journey home - the rain had beaten them. It was just too wet for them. (He did ring again to say their washing machine has died this morning - full of all their muddy clothes from the holiday! Not a happy chap!!)
