Many parents don't teach their kids to respect such places. My son was taken to the cemetery at an early age as I had to attend to his sister's gravce, so he learned what was what then. We did have to be a little bit disrespectful one time. Son was about 14 and came to meet me with his bike after his paper round to put flowers on as it was her birthday, end January. We were cutting it fine cos the papers had been late and as we came along the main walkway we could see the chap had locked the high gates half way up and also the barrier close to the road! Son had to cycle round to find a gap in the hedge where we could get through, by passing the tall gates, and then I had to clamber over the barrier at the bottom. Often wondered what passing motorists thought of a middle aged woman trying to get her leg over the barrier lol

I'm glad to hear that they did not bother your little one. Children have always played where they were not allowed....did it myself. BUT we would have been killed stone dead by my father had we annoyed any passers by. Deanna X

Not nice bombing other people with water, but I am sure that children have played around cemeteries for years. Hopefully they were not doing damage to the graves? ann glos

you could even have said they were making enough noise to wake the dead guess i gotta look at it that at least they were playing some where reasonably safe rather than causing real trouble, i dont often walk that way so i guess it just struck me as wrong s xx

you wouldn't believe it would you .we were talking to our town clerk as we wanted to put a bench in the cemetery in memory of our mum .he said we can't put benches in now as youths use them to skateboard off .when we were kids a cemetery was a sacred place ,what has gone wrong .

Popped down the the shops and on way back walked back through the cemetery as little one had dozed off in push chair............there were 5 or 6 lads filling water bombs up using the tap in the cem and then using the headstones to hide behind !!!!
