Maz,We knew someone that had been remanded in custody. On the morning of his court appearance we stood outside the court awaiting the van. When it pulled up meand the rest of his friends started chanting We Want Gary We want Gary.A old couple actually went inside the van to have a look.It was the time when Gary Glitter had been nicked. It caused a laugh for Group 5 the old couple and the prisoners. Had a great day! very interesting - Charlotte and I got locked in cells on the prison van (what used to be called a Black Maria, only they're white now!). I never realised they had individual cells on there - I thought the prisoners sat on seats! Each one has an individual seat with walls round it (like a loo cublicle only smaller) with a window to the outside and to the corridor. You learn summat every day! Had a huuuuge thunderstorm too - we were outside at the time getting some grub so we sheltered under their gazebo thingy. Thought we were gonners! oh, we also had our fingerprint taken and put in a keyring :-) and petted a 22 month old GS police dog - she was beautiful! Maz. XX ps only disappointment was NO firemen!! |
