That is great Lynn.....I don't get any of the small birds staying in my garden because of the cat.......and the magpies and blackbirds that seem to take over.... I love Robins, my Mum always said she would come back as one..... |

Ahhhhh how lovely.....I had three Robins nests in my shed last year, I had intended pulling the shed down but had to leave it until they'd gone, took ages, every time I thought they had gone they came back and laid more eggs lol Susie x |

We have a blackbird nesting in our escallonia hedge, three eggs there and so prickly I think they will be safe from the local cats. Mother blackbird is driving o.h. nuts, she keeps digging in pots, pulled a lily bulb right out of a pot in the greenhouse, brave bird, and has pulled the soil from round the roots of one of his bonsais which he had put outside, near the greenhouse. She just cocks her head and looks at him when she is doing it and he catches her. I suppose there must be some insect living there that she likes. |

You're so lucky Lynn. I love Robins, but don't see them in our garden much. Had a family of Blutits recently but think they've all flow the nest. Living on the coast we often have huge seagulls sitting on roofs,(not keen at all on them) they always remind me of Hithcock's 'the Birds' film. Tiny birds must be frightened of them. Mau |
