I have tried all main stores ie M&S, Next, Priciples etc but they are all made with Elastane. Has anyone seen them with Lycra please. Kim |

Lycra is the tradename for the elastic fibre elastane. |

Try a sportswear shop. You should be able to find a pair of shiny runners' tights or long cycling leggings. OK, so they'll probably cost a bit more but they will last forever and ultimately work out dead-cheap. I've had a pair since 2000 and they have kept their shape and not gone into holes. If you are lucky they will look just like ordinary leggings - BUT you may have to shop around as sportswear designers tend to go for odd colours in strange shaped inserts, plus putting stripes up the leg for some reason! M&S USED to sell the perfect lycra sportswear leggings BUT discontinued them after one season, replacing them with nasty flappy elastane jobs. British Home Stores does thick leggings which are more like very narrow trousers. They have an elasticated waist but, I found, have a tendency to fall down needing constant readjustment. My friend, however, swears by them so maybe they just weren't suitable for my shape. They even do a stretch denim version! I hate the elastane leggings as they go all saggy and thin and look scruffy after a couple of weeks' wear. Lycra is a million times better. That said, I did pick up a pair of Next's £10 mid-calf length purple leggings recently and they have kept their shape extremely well. The bum-area is wearing rather thin though that doesn't matter as I wear them under a short skirt! Tracey |

Thats what I thought! Does it come in different strength grades? The clothing with lycra labels definitely seems to be more resiliant than that simply labelled elastane. Curious! |

Bon Marche and Peacocks sell leggings in basic colours but without disturbing o.h. I can't check the content at the mo, will try to remember later on Saturday. |

Try looking in the tights section. Woolford have some. Can be expensive as opposed to high street brands but will last forever (I've had a pair of Woolford tights for 5 years!). Have a look at figleaves*com Jen |
