My older daughter hasn’t felt right for months. In fact she’s had occasional tummy problems for a few years. She’s been in and out of hospital, had nasty tests done and been still getting worse. She was having panic attacks because she was worrying about leaving the house and being ill. Her doctor sent her to see a dietician, and a therapist for the panic attacks. The dietician put her on a really bland diet but still she was getting worse. This week she was really upset and feeling she couldn’t cope. I had an inspiration and did a bit of my own research. I discovered that, although it isn’t as usual among northern Europeans, yet still some can be milk intolerant. She and I decided she should try a dairy free diet and see what happened. It has been just as if someone has switched off the problem. Almost immediately she started to feel better and now, three days later, she feels totally normal for the first time in I don’t know how long! She managed to drive home from university for the weekend and is her old cheerful self. So if you are feeling generally unwell with IBS type symptoms this might be worth considering. Sue |
