For 7 years I've been a stay at home mom and I wouldn't change the time I've been able to spend with the sprout for all the tea in china, BUT............. Dear God, just how much dusting, cleaning, cooking etc can a person take? And when exactly does it become fun and rewarding!!? None of my friends or neighbours are around during the day, and they're few and far between anyway. There's only so much TV you can watch. The only time I hear my own voice sometimes is if I shoo the dog! At this stage I've got a degree in Cabin Fever. I can't go to work as I'm fairly incapacitated. Most of the time I don't let it get to me, but lately..... Aaargh! If anyone has the secret of astral projection, please let me in on it! At least then, I can quit whingeing as I climb the Materhorn! |

Hiya girls, thanks for the replies. Main 'Hobby' is the tree at the moment. Not very good with hands except for weeding or suchlike! Most of the time I'm OK with the home-life, but sometimes I wish I was back in the world. I worked very hard for 22 years with deadlines and not enough hours in the day and now - well there are too many hours! I know it sounds pathetic compared to the lives some people have to live but today is one of those moany minnie times! |

Oh vonny...I can assure you ...you are not alone....I crack up on a weekly basis....family would argue daily.....why not join the birthday girl group...we make handmade cards and send to the group on each of their birthdays....its a great hobby..and you dont have to be an expert...and the rewards are great....it's fun ..creative....and once you start you cant stop.....as long as you have an imagination..you have the tools.... try it ... it gives you something to do.... and is very enjoyable..a lot of the women on here are in it..best wishes Sally xx |

Thanks Nolls and the girls. Amazing how good you can feel just to have a little rant now and then! Thanks for the good advice and good wishes. Even 'chatting' like this can help. Proves you're not the last person on the planet! Am off now to give myself a shake-up and attempt to develop a love of washing machines! Might drop a line again soon. thanks again so much for taking the time. |
