Ive let someone look at my tree, as it looked like we share great great grandparents on one branch. We do and the cheeky so and so has used all of my tree in his. I dont mind him going backwards, as I did with his, and only on the gg grandparents part as no one else on his tree was anything to do with me. But he has used all of mine even my parents and the whole of my mums side, who surely wont be any relation to him at all. All my little branches off my dads mums side. Im a bit cross...............I know its not illegal, but Im sure its unethical. And flaming naughty.

Hi Margaret If any of the relatives he has copied are still alive then you can ask him to remove them because you need permission off any living person before their name can be put on a tree. If he doesn't then you can ask genes to do it for you. As for the rest there's nothing that you can do but I know it must be annoying. Personally I don't see the point of copying details of non relatives and it would be manners to ask first. Juliexx

Hi Margaret, This, sadly, has happened to many of us, over the years. And you're right, it's not illegal but damned infuriating! One of the reason's that I now only keep the the direct line on here, nothing else. It's enough to get matches on the surnames, but if they want any more, they have to ask, and it's down to me, how much they get. Debbie

Hi,i had to contact GR yesterday because someone had me,my dad,OH,Grandad,G.Grandad...and so on in their tree!!! Still don't know where they got it all from,they said 'another member'!! I contacted GR and got living Rellies removed...but i have to say,it really upset me !!
