I have LUPUS and allergies etc which means I have to dampen down my immune system. I'm on steroids at the moment and prone to candida. Have been using garlic rather a lot over the years...and now no friends...to help with thrush and fight off infections. I've read now that garlic boosts the immune system which I don't need. Somewhere else it said it maintained the immune system. I have found this with echinacea and some other herbal things. Any garlic users out there know about this? To garlic or not to garlic, that is the question! Thanks Liz

Liz Don't know about the garlic thingy, but some other remedies for thrush are live or pro active yoghurts, and cranberry juice. Garlic has other benefits too, such as giving you a healthy heart, so I wouldnt cut it out altogether. OC

Thanks OC. I use Goats Yog and when I remember take acidopholis capsules. I had an endoscopy a few years ago and my oesphagus was coated white... I try to keep on anti candida diet and know I'm in trouble when craving sugar and give in. I tried stuff from the herbalists in Burnley but it irritated my stomach. I'm taking Aloe Vera Juice with Cranberry after I down the soluble steroids... I tend to get gastritis and the steroids irritate that too. It's finding something to help candida and not irritate the stomach. Must get some more yoghurt in... Thanks again for replying. Liz
