Hi Deb, If I get a cold in September I'm still coughing in January. It clears up to make room for the summer cold that starts in May and ends in August. At least your Mum hasn't sewn you into a vest smeared with goose fat which is an old country remedy Gwynne |

Gwynne - this is on the up and up! The whole house is bathed in the luxurious aromas of 'Vicks'! I'm all for 'alternative'medicine after what I ahve been through since January. I'll keep you posted on how I feel in the morning. When I get a cold, I have it for a few weeks as a rule. |

Hope that works deb.... last time I had a cold, my chiropractor told me to chew a raw clove of garlic before bed... Needless to say I didnt try it, but I think I would rather smell of vicks witha pair of sox on than garlic!!!! Clare x PS.... If you have rough skin on your feet, then rubbing with vaseline (and mix it with tea tree oil if you have it) then wearing sox for the night leaves your feet lovely and soft the next day... have done that before and it does work! |

I came down with a lousy cold last night. Sinus and chest. Talking to my Mum tonight she suggested a remedy that she has heard about, and it apparently works. Rub 'Vicks' on the soles of your feet before bed, topped with a pair of socks. How sexy is that??? :) I'll give it a try tonight and let you know if it works. Deb |
