Hi everyone, Sorry not to get back sooner but just got home after bedding down all my elderly peeps for the evening. Thanks for the replies. Any advice would be most appreciated. The other two eggs haven't hatched yet so I am wondering how long I should leave them before removing them from the nest. Any ideas? The one that has hatched is about an inch long and has a bald head and is covered in what looks like cotton wool. It will be interesting to see what colour it eventually turns out as the parents are called Peaches and Cream due to their colouring. I am so terrified that I will do something to harm this lovely little bird. I am feeding the parents soft food ie mashed boiled egg, sprouts and broccoli in addition to their seed mix. It is really fascinating watching them. My grandkids are completely transfixed. Phoned my parents tonight and found out that my grandfather and uncle used to breed canaries. Wonder if it runs in the genes. Aileen xxx ps I think the goldfish are pregnant. Give me a break!
