Peter the answer I got was something along the lines if a marriage takes place in a registry office then that is the day it is registered. |

When I first started I asked Question: How can I find the names of the parents of a young lad. I gave the young lads place of birth and date of birth. Answer was: have you sent off for his birth cert?? Doh!! Why didn't I think of that. Sue xx |

Not dumb at all. Marriages always took place in the quarter they were registered in so Jun 1912 could have been any time between 1st April to 30th June. Births and Deaths appear in the quarter that they were actually informed to the registrar, which could be weeks, months or even years later. |

Yesterday I put up a thread asking what dates would a wedding me if it was registered in the july quarter. Obvious answer is July. durrrrrrrrrrr. I was thinking of the births when you have 6 weeks (I think) to register the event. Was trying to cut down on my searches lol |
