Does anyone have any experience of doing this over the internet? There appear to be loads of companies that offer this service - has anyone used one and can recommend?? Many thanks

A friend of mind did not like her new contract phone and very kindly gave it to me. Her contract was with O2 and I wish to use my sim card which is Vodaphone - apparently I have to get the new phone 'unlocked' to enable me to use my SIM card.

Ginny the PUC number will only unlock the phone but will not allow you to use vodaphone on it. to do that you would have to have the phone chipped! If you have a local phone shop or market that sells mobiles they should be able to do it for you.

Hi Ginny, I used the guy whose stall is outside Woolworths in N/C. It cost a tenner and was all very secret squirrel, but worked a treat, particularly as it was a Sony Eriksson which are reputably the most difficult to unlock. It took a couple of minutes of furtive fiddling. Liz
