As you moght imagine we're alll really upset, even though we knew it was inevitable, and kinder to her. Misty was a lovely dog, a faithful friend and companion for my parents for over 12 years, and loved by us all. It will be very strange going to see my parents not to be greeted by Misty at the door Kath

Kath, I am so sorry I know it is like losing a member of the family this has been added many times before but it is beautiful... Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... ((((((((((((((((( hugs ))))))))))))))))) Love Gaynor xxx

Rainbow Ridge, it never fails to move me everytime I read it. I am sorry Kath about your parents losing their dog, you miss them so much. One of my dogs is starting to slow up and I dread the day that I will lose her,Lucy is fourteen now ,and she does not seem so well the past few days, but, still enjoys a gentle walk. I am taking her to the vets for a check up on Monday. At least when that day comes when I have to say goodbye I will still have her two pups (who are ten years old now) to console me. Every good wish Gwyn

Sad to hear that Misty has gone over the Rainbow Bridge, and your parents will miss her so much I know, as I missed my dog and always expected her to be there when I went in for a long time. I hope they will think of happy times with her when they feel low. Liz
