Salvationists in India

When I began researching my family tree in the early 1970s, a now-deceased cousin told me a relative & spouse had been the first Salvation Army members to be married in India. He once had a news clipping, but apparently lost it. The surname was most likely Borrett, but other possibilities might be Cheetham, Gardner, Day, Jones, among others. Anyone have an idea how I might trace this story down? I've tried the Salvation Army in London with no success. Any help much appreciated. Wayne, Ohio, USA |
